In Russian, like English, there are always two ways to write a letter: the uppercase and the lowercase.
Here is how you write the uppercase a.

Begin with a loop at the bottom left, move diagonally up and right, and draw a straight line down with a small loop at the end for А.
And here's the lowercase a.
a
Begin just above the middle, draw a circle counterclockwise, then a straight line top to bottom with a small tail at the bottom right for а.
Now, let's practice.
