John: This is Must-know Russian Slang Words and Phrases, Season 1, Lesson 19. In this lesson, you'll learn slang adjectives and adverbs.
John: Here we will learn three new adjectives and one adverb to describe different things and situations.
SLANG EXPRESSIONS
John: The expressions you'll be learning in this lesson are...

Karina: навороченный (navorochennyy)
Karina: потешный (pateshnyy)

John: Karina, what's our first expression?
Karina: обалденный (abaldennyy)
John: This literally means "get edged," but when it's used as a slang expression, it means "amazing” or “mind-blowing."

John: Use this expression when you want to say that something is very cool and mind-blowing.
John: Now, let's hear an example sentence.

John: This literally means "tricked out," but when it's used as a slang expression, it means "fancy-pants, tricked out."

John: Use this expression when you want to say that something is very tricked out, hard to understand, or has too many functions/features.

John: "He bought a fancy cell phone and has been constantly bragging about it ever since."

John: Okay, what's our next expression?
Karina: потешный (pateshnyy)
John: This slang comes from the word потеха ("fun"). As a slang expression, it means "funny."

John: Use this expression when something is very quirky or strange. It's not an offensive word.
