Learn Russian with RussianPod101.com! The weather has been changing dramatically since you have been vacationing in Russia, and it seems to have kicked off you and your friends’ allergies. But you’re not going to allow that to ruin your trip. Today, you’re planning a trip to the Russian market to buy souvenirs. However, while you are there, the wind picks up making you and your friends sneeze. You recover much quicker than your friends do, replying in Russian, “Bless you.” One of your friends that is native to Russia replies, “Very good. I see you have been studying your Russian.” You keep walking through the Russian market, smiling on the inside to have received the praise of your friend. As you are reflecting on your Russian language acquisition, your sneezing starts again and you accidentally bump into another person. You reply in Russian, “Oh, I’m so sorry.” The man is very nice and responds in Russian, “No problem.” Deciding the wind just isn’t going to die down, you and your friends decide grab some coffee. Sitting down to enjoy yourselves, you are hoping the wind dies down, but the wind just does not seem to be letting up any time soon. Because your allergies just are not getting better, you finally decide to return to the hotel, take some medicine, and get some rest. As you walk away sadly, you wave and yell in Russian, “Goodbye.” Hopefully, your allergies will go away and not return for the length of your trip…

Please can you reupload this lesson as it will not play in ITunes or on my IPOD. Also, it does not go across to my Podcast section as the podcasts usually do.

Hey, hown often and in what situations is круто used???

Natallia says:

Hello,
the word круто means cool right? So it can be used in the same situations when cool is used. I guess if you see a cool car, or someone is going on an amazing trip or got a fantastic job, you can say Круто! There are other expressions as well: Клёво-cool, great, замечательно-great, ништяк-cool (this maybe a little old-fashioned though) So just choose your favorite and use it!

The vocabulary pronunciation has been very helpful and so have these lessons.

However, could the word or phrase being taught for the first time to beginners be repeated a few times before beginning to speak english again (or could it be spoken more slowly)?

Thanks,
Blade Baturu
