John: This is Must-know Russian Slang Words and Phrases, Season 1, Lesson 5. In this lesson, you'll learn about expressing positive emotions.
John: Unlike the previous lesson, this lesson teaches you four possible ways to say that you liked a joke or situation.

Karina: прикол (prikol)
John: This literally means "joke." But when it's used as a slang expression, it means "joke,” “something funny,” or “amusingly odd."

John: Use this expression when you want to say something is funny.
John: Now, let's hear an example sentence.

John: "In this book, you’ll find a lot of jokes and oddities."

Karina: кадр (kadr)
John: This literally means "frame” or “shot," but when it's used as a slang expression, it means "unusual person."
Karina: [SLOW] кадр [NORMAL] кадр

John: Use this expression when you say someone is a weird or unusual person, usually a stranger, but in a negative or funny way. For example, "this girl is so funny" or "this guy is crazy; what’s he doing?" It’s better not to say this word to the person directly.

John: It literally means "carbon monoxide." As a slang expression, it means "funny, cool, nice."
