Hi everyone! I’m Katya Sost.
In this lesson, you'll learn essential social expressions, such as "thank you."
This is Ben Lee and he's on the train. A fellow passenger drops his wallet as he exits the train. Ben picks up the wallet and chases after the man.
He calls to the man by saying,
"Excuse me."
Извините. (Izvinite.)
Listen to the following three short dialogues between Ben and the man.
Ready?
Извините. (Izvinite.)
Да? (Da?)
Ben hands the wallet to the man.
Спасибо! (Spasibo!)
Пожалуйста. (Pozhaluysta.)
Ben turns to board the train, but the doors shut.
Извините. (Izvinite.)
Ничего страшного. (Nichego strashnogo.)
Once more with the English translation.
Извините. (Izvinite.)
"Excuse me."
Да? (Da?)
"Yes?"
Ben hands the wallet to the man.
Спасибо! (Spasibo!)
"Thank you!"
