Hi, guys! It’s me Katya. Всем привет. (Vsem privet.) Welcome to RussianPod101.com. If you’re new or not new, I still welcome you, добро пожаловать (dobro pozhalovat'). Today, our topic is 5 most popular Russian bands. Let’s check it out!
1. Тату (Tatu) “t.A.T.u.”
"Тату" были очень популярны и за пределами России, слышал о них? ("Tatu" byli ochen' papulyarny i za predelami Rasii, slyshal a nikh?) “t.A.T.u was very popular abroad. Have you heard of them?”
You should definitely check one of their songs like - Ya soshla s uma… like “I get crazy, yeah!”. They’re quite cute. Try singing that.
2. Серебро (Serebro) “SEREBRO”
"Серебро" представляли Россию на Евровидении в 2007. ("Serebro" pretstavlyali Rasiyu na Yevravidenii v dve tysyachi sed'mom.) “Serebro represented Russia in 2007 Eurovision Song Contest.”
3. Би-2 (Bi-dva) “Bi-2”
Би-2 - рок-группа, очень популярная в России, но не думаю, что многие знают их за границей. (Bi-dva - rok-grupa, ochen' papulyarnaya v Rasii.) “Bi-2 is a rock band that is very popular in Russia.”
4. Ночные Снайперы (Nachnyye Snaypery) “Nochnye Snaipery / Night Snipers”
"Ночные снайперы" в некоторых песнях использовали стихи Бродского, Ахматовой, Лорки. (Nachnyye Snaypery v nekatarykh pesnyakh ispol'zavali stikhi Brotskava, Akhmatavay, Lorki.) “Nochnye Snaipery used poetry by Brodsky, Akhmatova, and Lorca in some of their songs.”
5. Ария (Ariya) “Aria”
"Арию" называли "русскими Iron Maiden". ("Ariyu" nazyvali "ruskimi Iron Maiden".) “Aria was known as the "Russian Iron Maiden."”
