Hi, everybody! Всем привет. (Vsem privet.) and it’s me Katyusha with Russian Top Words. Today, our topic is top 10 phrases to know when you’re having a baby. So let’s go! Поехали! (Poyekhali!)
1. кормить грудью (kormit' grud'yu) “to breastfeed”
Некоторые женщины кормят детей грудью до трёх лет. (Nekotoryye zhenshchiny kormyat detey grud'yu do tryokh let.) “Some women breastfeed children up to three years.”
2. сменить памперс (smenit' pampers) “to change a diaper”
Ты не мог бы сменить ему памперс? (Ty ne mog by smenit' yemu pampers?) “Can you change the diaper for him?”

3. надеть слюнявчик (nadet' slyunyavchik) “to put on a bib”
Не забудь надеть на неё слюнявчик, иначе она вся испачкается! (Ne zabud' nadet' na neyo slyunyavchik, inache ona vsya ispachkayetsya!) “Don't forget to put a bib on her or she'll get all dirty!”
4. переодеть (pereodet') “to change someone’s clothes”
Помоги мне переодеть его, пожалуйста. (Pomogi mne pereodet' yego, pozhaluysta.) “Help me change his clothes, please.”
5. спеть колыбельную (spet' kolybel'nuyu) “to sing a lullaby”
Мама всегда пела мне колыбельную в детстве. (Mama vsegda pela mne kolybel'nuyu v detstve.) “My mom always sang me a lullaby when I was a child.”
Спи, моя радость, усни... (Spi, moya radost’, usni...)
6. Вздремнуть (vzdremnut') “to take a nap”
Вздремну немного, пока ребёнок спит. (Vzdremnu nemnogo, poka rebyonok spit.) “I'll take a quick nap while the baby sleeps.”
I look so happy. I can take a nap!
7. купить детское кресло (kupit' detskoye kreslo) “to buy a baby seat”
Нужно обязательно купить детское кресло для машины. (Nuzhno abyazatel'no kupit' detskoye kreslo dlya mashiny.) “We need to buy a baby seat for the car.”
8. кормить (kormit') “to feed”
Просто покорми его и уложи спать. (Prosto pokormi yego i ulozhi spat'.) “Just feed him and put him to sleep.”
Easy to say.
9. читать сказки на ночь (ctitat' skazki na noch’) “to read bedtime stories”
Вы читаете детям сказки на ночь? (Vy chitayete detyam skazki na noch’?) “Do you read bedtime stories to your children?”
10. искупать (iskupat') “to bathe”
Перед сном ребёнка нужно искупать. (Pered snom rebyonka nuzhno iskupat'.) “You need to bathe the baby before it goes to sleep.”
