Becky: Here's the formal way to ask 'Do you speak English?' in Russian.
Elena: [Normal] Вы говорите по-английски?(Vy gavarite pa-angliski?)
Becky: First is a word meaning 'you'
Elena: [Normal] вы [Slow] вы (vy)
Becky: Next is the word meaning 'speak'
Elena: [Normal] говорите [Slow] говорите(gavarite)
Becky: Last is the word meaning 'English'
Elena: [Normal] по-английски [Slow] по-английски(pa-angliski)
Becky: Note the rising intonation. Listen again to the formal question meaning 'Do you speak English?'
