Becky: Welcome to 3-Minute Russian Season 1, Lesson 15 - Where Are You Going? In this lesson, you’ll learn how to ask where someone is going in Russian.

Becky: Here's the informal way to ask 'Where are you going?' in Russian.
Elena: [Normal] Куда ты идешь?(Kuda ty idyosh?)
Becky: First is a word meaning 'where'
Elena: [Normal] куда [Slow] куда (kuda)
Becky: Next is the word meaning 'you'
Elena: [Normal] ты [Slow] ты(ty)
Becky: Last is the word meaning 'go’ or ‘going'
Elena: [Normal] идешь [Slow] идешь(idyosh)
Becky: Note the rising intonation. Listen again to the informal question meaning 'Where are you going?'
Elena: [Slow] Куда ты идешь? [Normal] Куда ты идешь?
Becky: Now, imagine you're speaking to a stranger. Here's the formal way to ask, 'Where are you going?'
Elena: [Normal] Куда вы идёте?(Kuda vy Idyote?)
