Your Russian boss is very impressed with your work. He wants you to meet some important people in the company. He explains that if your Russian superiors are equally impressed with you, it could mean big things for you in the Russian company. Your boss introduces you in Russian to the three Russian men and two Russian women that hold your future at the Russian company in their hands. At first, you exchange names and talk a little about where you are from. Then, they each want to talk to you individually…to get to know you better. One of the Russian women decides to talk to you first. You smile, shake her hand, and tell her in Russian, “давай познакомимся поближе.” She smiles, slides a little closer to you, places her hand on your knee, and tells you in Russian that she believes you have quite a future with this company. Something tells you this is not how you wanted to get a promotion…
