We mean hopping on a plane to Russian speaking countries, reading Russian signs, ordering at restaurants, and striking up conversations with Russian speaking people along the way. Learn Russian with RussianPod101.com! The friends you met in Russia are fantastic, and you are really having a wonderful time at the Russian nightclub tonight. However, it’s really getting late and you have to get up early in the morning. But it seems nobody else is ready to leave. First, you tell them nicely in Russian, “I really need to go home.” Somehow, maybe because of the loud music and talking everywhere around you, no one seems to hear you. So, you repeat yourself in Russian, “I am really tired and I want to go home!” Still, nobody seems to hear you. Finally, you scream at the top of your lungs in Russian, “I WANT TO GO HOME NOW!!!!” However, just as you began screaming, the music stopped playing and everyone in the Russian nightclub heard your seemingly rude request! Not understanding why you are so angry, your friends reply in Russian, “Come on! It’s still early! Where do you want to go next?” Will they ever stop?!

You just found out your friend is vegetarian when you became suspicious of what they ordered. Even though you don’t understand why anyone would be a vegetarian, you respect his or her choices. You are enjoying your Russian dinner greatly, but you don’t suspect the same of your friend. Halfway through the meal, you ask your friend in Russian, “What do you think of your soup?” Your friend replies, “It’s okay. I thought it would be better, but I guess since this is a Russian steakhouse, they don’t specialize in soup.” You agree and continue eating. Maybe you can find an ice cream shop or another restaurant that you both could equally enjoy for dessert.
