I can’t recall any expressions in Russian that would reflect the meaning of your saying precisely, but here are a couple of Russian proverbs that have to do with “misery” and “company”:
Друзья по несчастью (druz’ya po neschast’yu) - “misery friends” (sharing the same unfortunate situation).
Когда есть друзья по несчастью, и несчастье меньше - Company in distress makes trouble less.
There’s also one pretty sarcastic and mean saying in Russian which has become quite popular in Russia:
Главное счастье - горе соседа - the biggest happiness is the misery of your neighbor.
It`s supposed to be a joke of course, but inside every joke is a little kernel of truth

When it is impossible to sleep I bang on the wall so that my neighbors will also have trouble sleeping.

As they say in English, “Misery loves company.”
